Can you roleplay in GTA 6 at launch?
Not on community servers of the FiveM kind. GTA 6 launches on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, with no PC version or online mode announced. See the server-readiness tracker.
Will GTA 6 come to PC?
Not announced. Rockstar's past PC versions arrived 8 to 19 months after consoles, but that is history, not a promise. See the PC tracker.
Will FiveM support GTA 6?
Rockstar has not said. It owns the FiveM team (Cfx.re) since 2023, so many expect it, but it is speculation until announced.
What do I need to play GTA RP today?
A PC copy of GTA V, the FiveM client and a server to join. Many popular servers require a whitelist application. See how RP servers work.
Is GTA RP free?
FiveM itself is free, but you need a legitimate PC copy of GTA V. Servers may sell permitted extras like queue priority under the platform rules.
Can you do GTA RP on console?
Not in the FiveM sense. Console players sometimes run informal roleplay sessions in GTA Online, but without custom servers, scripts or enforced rules.
What is a whitelisted server?
A server that only admits players whose application has been approved, usually after reading the rules and sometimes writing a character backstory.
What does NVL mean?
No Value of Life: acting as if your character is not afraid of death, such as fighting back at gunpoint. It breaks almost every server's rules. See rules.
What is metagaming?
Using information your character could not know, like something you saw on a stream or in Discord, inside the roleplay.
What is the New Life Rule?
After your character is downed and respawns, you forget the events that led to it and do not return to the scene for revenge.
What is NoPixel?
One of the best-known GTA V RP servers, whose streamers drove the 2019 Twitch boom. In September 2026 Rockstar announced an officially supported NoPixel server. See the history.
Did Rockstar ever ban FiveM?
In 2015 Rockstar banned people linked to FiveM and called it unauthorised. Eight years later, in August 2023, Rockstar brought the team in-house.
Which role should I start with?
A civilian job such as taxi, delivery or mechanic. It lets you learn the city and rules before applying for police, EMS or criminal roles. See roles.

Frameworks: base script sets that provide jobs, money, inventories and more, on which servers build their own features.
